September!

How can it be September already?!
Only 9 days til my big sister and her hubby visit-
Only 18 days til my birthday teaparty-
Only 21 days til I fly out for the wedding in Lindos.
Im not ready!!!

Hard Graft on Annual Leave

A whole week pft and its gone!- thats my usual manic annual leave! Loads of hard labour but great results. A full 8 yard skip of rubbish including half the concrete paths gone!..New places to plant up in Mums garden and new area to sit in too! Freshly painted living room and a list of new jobs to do on my Saturday visits! Job well done if I say so myself!!

Holidays And Tea-Parties

Hoorah!!! That was my last shift at work for week.....and had to do breakfast on my own. Thankfully an angel of a carerworker stepped in to do lunch -dont know how I could've done it myself.But thats done with!

I now have a week of garden shed dismantling and house clearing and decorating at my Mums! Every year she goes on a Christian Retreat to Ditchingham in Norfolk. This year it will be without my Dad as he passed away last October. We do miss him...

Its now less than six weeks until my first holiday abroard! Yes 44 and Im feeling daunted and excited to be going to Lindos in September. This is actually for a wedding first and formost. My best friends 2nd daughter is getting married in the tiny St Peters Bay(or is it St Pauls) chapel and we are making a weeks holiday out of it!!

Most happily it is my 45th birthday while we are there as is my best friends little sister so lots of celebrating all round! As I will be away my daughter Yvie is catering for a birthday tea-party for me. Im so thrilled as she has such a creative way with food just check out her blog at yviemarie.blogspot.com! She text me yesterdayto ok her plans for a hearts and stripe theme in black,red and white. Quirky and very me right now! As I plan to have an Alice in Wonderland themed 50th birthday, I hope that all my birthday teaparties from now until that 'big one' will be mini practise runs! I do hope they become madder and madder as I get older!What fun!!

New Bed and Picture Ledges

My new bed arrived a couple of weeks ago and was constructed with the help of a friend.He also put up my Ikea picture ledges.

Its Mine all Mine!

For so long Ive been trying to sort my own room out.I knew that white would be the overall colour of the room with black as a contrast.I picked up several items including the black lace panels,cushions,lots of black picture frames and storage boxes long before putting paint to the walls and carpet on the floor!

Mayors reception

Home from busy but exciting day at work.I believe our reception following the official opening of the new extension at work was a great success! After panicing that we may not have enough for everyone, all was fine. Everyone very complementary too. Job well done!

I have learnt to crochet! A work collegue has recently got hooked and spent an hour of her spare time showing me today. Ive been wanting to master the hook for some time so im really pleased!!

Soaked

Im drenched! Just got in from work having had to walk home in the pouring rain!Dont get me wrong my garden desires muchly of this wet stuff I just couldve done without walking home in it!

Had a another winning game of scrabble with our youngest resident. Pity more of them didnt enjoy a game. Maybe the new residents we're expecting in the nxt few months will enjoy a game.

Nxt week we are having the recently finished extention opened by the Mayor.Various honoured guests will be attending! It has fallen to my best friend,also the cook at the home, and myself to provide refreshments for this occasion. What fun! Not looking forward to having to wear skirt and blouse tho!!
